I read one review that said the Fiio e10 made a huge difference within audirvana and allowed for the integer mode to be enabled, so I assume it was supported. This review was left quite a long time ago, however, are there any better options out there on the market today that offer greater performance for a lesser price? Any additional information would be great. This would allow any DAC to be connected.

A lot of people think spending a fortune on DACs is worthwhile but the law of diminishing returns kicks in at a very low point IMO. DACs are solid state devices so buying secondhand is always an option as they either work or they don’t. In theory, this would prevent any rounding errors in the conversion process from affecting the sound of the music.

IOWs, you can use the analogue outputs too. The actual benefit of course will be extremely minimal I suppose it’s possible that Apple wouldn’t allow Integer Mode to work with their internal DACs but that would be an arbitrary imposition!

But if so, then indeed you’d have to use an external DAC Thanks for your help guys! Thanks for the suggestion larkon. The only problem I think i might have with the Behringer is that it wouldn’t drive my earphones based on the NwAVGuy review. Thanks for the suggestion larkon. The only problem I think i might have with the Behringer is that it wouldn’t drive my earphones based on the NwAVGuy review. I think I may give this a go as this will hopefully do everything I desire. If it doesn’t, then I can always return it. Appreciate the help guys!
